I have just launched a new course to the Sedona Aromatherapie online and distance learning course options: Butters, Balms, Creams and Lotions Course for beginners in aromatherapy. I wrote and designed this course as a natural follow-on to the Sedona Aromatherapie Foundation Course in Aromatherapy. However, it can also be studied as a stand alone course for beginners who have little or no experience in making aromatherapy products.
Making Your Own Aromatherapy Products
The new Butters, Balms, Creams and Lotions Course is currently offered as a distance learning course, either as a PDF file via e-mail or as a hard copy via regular mail. It is the first in a series of courses written as a professional aromatherapy tutorial for beginners. Pricing varies for this course, depending upon which format you choose (PDF or physical hard copy). If you need supplies to make the products in the course, contact me with your request, and I will put together a personal quote for you. There are a range of different recipes to choose from in making products, so its not possible to put together a “standard” kit for this particular course, as each recipe requires a variety of different ingredients.
The course is a comprehensive study booklet of 100 pages, complete with color photos and instructions for making each of the various products. However, it is not just a booklet of recipes to try; the course also includes information on the various ingredients used to make each product, blending techniques, profiles of butters, carrier oils and essential oils, in addition to information on how to safely use essential oils in making aromatherapy products. It is more than a natural product making tutorial – it is a comprehensive introduction to the world of true aromatherapy and essential oils!
Professional Education Credits and Other Accreditation for Sedona Aromatherapie Courses
Several people have asked me about continuing education credits for professionals such as massage therapists for the Sedona Aromatherapie courses. At this present time, the only accreditation which Sedona Aromatherapie courses carry is the NAHA level 1 accreditation for the Sedona Aromatherapie Foundation Course in Aromatherapy. It is my intention to write several more aromatherapy courses in the next six months and then seek appropriate continuing education credits/other accreditation for the Sedona Aromatherapie courses in 2013.
If you are interested in updates on the progress of this process, I encourage you to sign up for the Sedona Aromatherapie newsletter, where information is usually published first.
In the meantime, all courses are priced with this in mind; for example, if you’re simply looking to add to your skill set or learn a new skill for pleasure, and are not concerned about accreditation, now is the time that you should be taking one of these courses! Once a course receives accreditation, I will be increasing the price of it to reflect that level of professional endorsement! However, I will aim to keep prices as low as possible, given the economic climate that we currently live in.
