About Authentic Aromatherapy

Authentic Aromatherapy is a great introduction to aromatherapy. It answers many of the questions beginners to aromatherapy have, such as:

  • What is the difference between a fragrance oil and an essential oil?

  • How are essential oils β€œmade?”

  • How can I use aromatherapy?

  • What are the safety guidelines surrounding the use of essential oils?

  • Can I use essential oils with babies and children safely?

In addition, Authentic Aromatherapy profiles forty essential oils used in aromatherapy – and suggests many different ways in which you can use these particular essential oils. Various bases are discussed for your aromatherapy blends.

  • Sharon,
Thank you for the opportunity to own a hard copy of your book.
I would like to own a copy of Authentic Aromatherapy because firstly, I know that you write very well, and I appreciate the research that you have done. Secondly, the time that you have put into your blog and the content there indicates that you are very dedicated and knowledgeable. I trust you to direct your readers and students in the right direction. Today there is so much poor information available that I don’t know who to trust. I trust you and I trust your education.
I would also get a kick out of using your book as a reference while I complete my first course with you at Authentic Aromatherapie.

  • I am new to aromatherapy and am enjoying learning about the oils. The power of the oils is amazing and there is so much misinformation out there. Your book covers all the important things especially safety which is so important.

  • I am new to aromatherapy and reading alot on the subject. Always looking forward to new information. Hoping to take some certification courses soon. With some of the health issues I have had over the last year I find going more natural is better.

  • I would love to have your book. I only have but 2 books in my “library” so far.

I would love to learn the answers in your book. I’m especially interested in Authentic Aromatherapy profiles forty essential oils used in aromatherapy – and suggests many different ways in which you can use these particular essential oils. Various bases are discussed for your aromatherapy blends.

    As well as:
What is the difference between a fragrance oil and an essential oil?

    How are essential oils β€œmade?”

    How can I use aromatherapy?

What are the safety guidelines surrounding the use of essential oils?

Can I use essential oils with babies and children safely?

  • I would love to win your book. I am fairly new to essential oils and have been using them for me and my family as well as starting to try making soaps and cleaners for my house. I would love to learn more about oils!

  • Your book would be such a privilege to have. I really want to learn more than mere recipes. I want to learn the mystery of essential oils, their personalities, their healing qualities and the art of blending. I love using them to clean and to take care of my hair and skin and all sorts of practical daily things, but my heart is in wanting to learn how to help support the body’s health, it’s healing process. I discovered aromatherapy by just stumbling upon it during a time of great sickness and consternation at what was wrong with me. My periods were so painful, they would bring on vomiting. I was bed ridden for at least two days of the stretch each month. I was also looking for a way to heal my severe cystic acne. I came across several recipes posted on sites like e-how on what essential oils to buy and how many drops to use. I had nothing to lose and knew nothing about them at all. I went to the health food store and mixed them up. As I started to use them for my acne, I noticed how much they relieved my severe cramps! I was so elated. However the underlying cause of my problem I was yet to uncover a year or so later as celiac disease. During that time of desperation, I had ever increasing rashes, joint and muscle pains and terrible foot fungus over the next year or so until I uncovered the truth. The oils and simple recipes were what kept me functioning until I was able to figure it out. The dermatologist was no help and wrote on my records that I was delusional about my symptoms and refused to treat me because I would not give up essential oils in order to replace them with tetracycline and harsh drugs. I told her sorry but I am not giving up the only thing which actually stopped the itch and suppressed the rash! I was overrun with yeast which the oils helped to detox right out of my skin. Although my symptoms could not truly heal until I changed my diet, aromatherapy gave me the support I needed which otherwise would have been found in steroids and dangerous drugs. This experience gave me the desire to want to become a certified aromatherapist. Just as I was looking into this, I got pregnant for the first time at 42! I used very gentle oils which were widely regarded as safe for pregnancy to help with small ailments and even to stop a severe cramping/bleeding incident which my doctor later identified as a threatened miscarriage. That oil was of course lavender. These precious oils have played such an important role in changing my life and in giving life to a healthy son at my age. I have had to put off studying in order to raise my son, but once he is old enough, I hope to resume my quest.

  • I would love a copy of this book to add to my aromatherapy literature collection. I began collecting essential oils in the early 1990’s, developed my own line of products over the course of the last 5 years, and opened Adirondack Aromatherapy, my own aromatherapy retail store, just last year. My aromatherapy library is open to the public, so *if* I do win, the book will be shared with many, many others.
    Thank you Sharon~!

  • Having a blast with the Foundation Course. Want to win this great book to continue my education on aromatherapy.

  • I’m interested in authentic aromatherapy, ensuring information is shared that is truthful and not marketing hype. I’d love to win a copy of your book to help me on my quest to share this truthful information.

  • I LOVE lavender !
Would be so honored to learn from your book.

My grandpa used oils. Unfortunately he passed away before I was old enough to be taught…

  • Several of my family members and I could be poster children for multiple illnesses, from Hashimoto Disease to Cushing’s Disease. I’ve recently been experimenting with essential oils and making my own blends and salves in an attempt to ease some of our symptoms and side effects. Now I’m starting into aromatherapy, but I don’t know nearly enough about it. This would be such a tremendous help to me! Thank you for the opportunity, my family and I appreciate it so much! Have a blessed day! πŸ™‚

  • I would LOVE to win a copy. I follow you on FB and Twitter and have purchased two of your ebooks already. I love the information and how easy it is to understand.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  • For as long as I can remember, I’ve had headaches. Some are worse than others, but every time I felt that familiar twinge, I reached for an asprin bottle. It wasn’t until last year that I decided it was time to take better care of myself. Instead of taking OTC pills, I tried a few drops of peppermint and lavender oils. I couldn’t believe it when my headache went away!

Since then I’ve been trying to learn more about essential oils and aromatherapy. I would love a copy of your book to add your extensive knowledge to my meager but growing arsenal of aromatherapy literature.

  • I couldn’t open the email about this opportunity fast enough! I’m a 50-something gal, making the transition from the crazy corporate world, to a calmer, more meaningful, natural life. My journey started with making handmade soaps, lotions, body butters and I’m at a point that I’d like to introduce the benefits of essential oils in them. I’ve been scouring the web for information and of course found myself at your site and was thrilled with the amount of valuable information!

In addition to my soaping, I will be beginning my journey toward becoming a homeopathic practitioner. I believe aromatherapy is an amazing complement to homeopathy and I’m anxious to learn as much as I can.

So Sharon, for these reasons I hope you agree I’d be an excellent recipient of this gift! Either way, thank you for extending the opportunity to us all!

  • I am a true believer of essential oils and their aromatic qualities.
