Our Founder: Sharon Falsetto
In the words of our founder and AromaMaven Extraordinaire:
“I founded Sedona Aromatherapie LLC way back in 2007, as a small, local business. I had no idea it would grow into Sedona Aromatics: The Garden School, ™ decades later! I am one of the first graduates of the English Aromatherapy school, Penny Price Aromatherapy Academy. I went onto further my aromatherapy education with a week-long study trip to France with Penny Price, a hands-on distillation workshop with Ann Harman in Washington state, a full-on herbal immersion program, and a university administered master garden studies course. I have also been a certified reflexologist (UK) since 2003, and an UK aromatherapy massage therapist since 2005 (which I no longer practice).
I have worked in the healthcare industry since the 1990’s, after leaving university, first in the UK, and then founding my own aromatherapy business with an unexpected move to the United States in 2006.
Before settling in the United States, I traveled the world and have firsthand knowledge of many places which helps me to connect on a deeper personal level with both US and international students and clients.
Writing and Editing Experience
I have been writing and editing professionally since 2008, becoming a published author of the book Authentic Aromatherapy in 2014 (New York: Skyhorse Publishing 2014), and working as Chief Editor for the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy’s Aromatherapy Journal since 2015. I wrote the complete Linguistics of Aromatics™ home study aromatherapy program for Sedona Aromatics.
I have served on the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy‘s Executive Board as Director Coordinator since 2018, as the regional director for Arizona since 2011, and I have been serving as a writer and editor for the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA) Aromatherapy Journal since 2013.
I also co-edited the book Harvest to Hydrosol by Ann Harman (US: BotANNicals 2015). And I was recently retained as the editor of a small print newspaper, The Phoenix Spirit.
I graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in business and accounting from the University of Sunderland (UK), which has given me an edge in understanding the founding and running of a small business. I have exclusively managed every aspect of my business, from product making to consulting to writing to editing to teaching, as it transformed in what it has become today, Sedona Aromatics: The Garden School™.
I have accumulated a vast knowledge and experience of aromatherapy business over the years, working as a consultant from international (airline and hotel chains) to start-up aromatherapy businesses, and advising from copy writing to creating custom blend product lines. My own personal and health-related issues, including fibromyalgia, undifferentiated connective tissue disorder (UCTD), migraine, and a DV survivor, mean that I developed a greater empathy and understanding of the clients and students I work with. Each client and student are special to me, not just a number.
As we enter a post-COVID-19 world, I feel that I have finally found my legacy. A low profit initiative for aromatherapy and botanical education, with a new way of delivering that information. This is my legacy. For the future of (wo)mankind.”
