The latest addition to the Sedona Aromatherapie distance learning courses is the Sage Aromatherapy Short Course. I designed and wrote this course to compliment the Lavender Aromatherapy Short Course. Here is some more information about this particular course.
Learn About Sage as a Plant and an Essential Oil
Sage was one of the most popular medicinal plants to be used in history, as it had a variety of uses. However, sage as a plant is different to sage as an essential oil. In addition, it is important to know which species of sage are used medicinally and as an essential oil.
Common sage (Salvia officinalis) essential oil is composed of more chemically active components than, for example, lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) essential oil. It is often avoided by aromatherapists because of the contra-indications associated with it. However, there is more than one type of sage which is used as an essential oil in aromatherapy practice.
The Sage Aromatherapy Short Course is a 20 page e-booklet packed with information about the use of sage in history as a medicinal plant, sage as a plant species, sage as an essential oil, aromatherapy recipes for using sage essential oil and a brief look at clinical research involving sage.
Accredited Aromatherapy Courses with Sedona Aromatherapie
At the end of the Sage Aromatherapy course, you have the opportunity to take a short test to assess your understanding of the course. This course will be submitted for NCBTMB credits in 2013. It currently qualifies as 4 hours CE credits for ARC (Aromatherapy Registration Council).
If you are interested in updates on the progress of accreditation for Sedona Aromatherapie courses, I advise you to sign up for the Sedona Aromatherapie newsletters, where information is usually published first.
In the meantime, all courses are priced with this in mind; for example, if you’re simply looking to add to your skill set or learn a new skill for pleasure, and are not concerned about accreditation, now is the time that you should be taking one of these courses! Once a course receives accreditation, I will be increasing the price of it to reflect that level of professional endorsement! However, I will aim to keep prices as low as possible, given the economic climate that we currently live in.
The Sage Aromatherapy Short Course is available for distance learning by PDF format or my US mail (hard copy). For further information, visit the Sage Aromatherapy course page or the courses home page.
