Our latest botanical fragrance, Avid about Ava, has a similar personality to Brown-eyed Brooks. However, whereas Brown-eyed Brooks is a cold season fragrance, Avid about Ava is perfect for the warmer months, just like Audrey on Air.

Avid about Ava is an ode to Ava Gardner (1922-1990), a woman ahead of her time. She was confident, imaginative, spontaneous, and fun. She was also reported to be warm and generous. All of these personality traits are represented in this unique perfume!

Avid about Ava starts off with a fun, grassy-green, citrus top note. That spontaneous note then begins to mellow out to an imaginative earthy, honeyed floral, culminating in the slightest hint of moss. Its light and happy beginning ends with a warm and generous dry down that keeps on giving long after you think it’s over. Its duplicity is the reason why it’s perfect for both spring and summer days and nights. Green, grassy, and gregarious. An adventure like no other.

The Inspiration Behind the Fragrance

Ava Gardner (1922-1990) was an American actress who breezed into Hollywood with a southern drawl that set the stage with her individuality in an environment that was already characterized by emerging actresses such as Louise Brooks and Greta Garbo. Although she was known for playing femme fatale roles onscreen, offscreen she was warm, generous, kind, and fun. She was an inspirational person who lived her life to the full.

I wanted to capture all of these traits in my fragrance creation. Creating Avid about Ava was just as much a challenge as creating Regretta. I eventually ended up with a fragrance that I felt captured the various personality traits of Ava Gardner, but the end ingredients were a lot different to what I started with. A lot of reiterations and dilution changes – but an amazing end result! This is a fun, green fragrance with a twist. Something very unique – just like Ava herself!

Ingredients: Alcohol (Ethyl Alcohol), Lime (Citrus Aurantifolia) Peel Oil, Damask Rose (Rosa Damascena) Flower Extract, Patchouli (Pogostemon Cablin) Leaf Oil, Bergamot (Citrus Aurantium Bergamia) Peel Oil, Celery (Seed) (Apium Graveolens) Extract, Honey (Cera Alba) Extract, Oakmoss (Evernia Prunastri) Extract.
