Basic Distillation Workshop
We are holding a one day custom workshop with one lucky student on October 11, 2019, and she has very kindly offered to open it up to a couple more places for two lucky ladies if you interested!
This is a basic show-and-tell distillation workshop where we will be conducting a steam/water distillation of either cypress or juniper on a 30L copper still.
You will take part in the collection of the plant material, setting up the still, and pulling off the hydrosol. However, this is not a workshop that will give you the “technical know-how” of distillations but rather a fun day of learning and understanding how plant material is turned into hydrosol.
We will begin the day around 10 am and finish around 4 pm, depending on the distillation process. Lunch is included.
Come and join us in what I believe is the BEST season to be in Sedona: Autumn. Cooler weather, yet still beautiful sunny days!
What you Need to Know
Location: The Basic Distillation workshop is located on a private one acre original homestead property, situated approximately five minutes outside of Sedona (West). We have a garden studio which houses our working still, and as separate room for blending and making custom blends during class and for business. Our aromatic garden surrounds the building structures (including our home) and you will be free to investigate our plants (depending upon season).
We are at the end of a private dirt road (accessible by all types of vehicles) in the quiet countryside of “original” Sedona surroundings. Full directions will be provided with your information sheet once you have paid the final balance for your workshop/retreat. We value the privacy and quiet of our surroundings, so be mindful of your interaction with residents and nature when visiting us.
What’s Included: Refreshments and lunch are provided due to our more remote location. You will also receive a custom workbook.
Continuing Education (CE Credits): Continuing education (CE) credits are available to meet National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA) CE requirements and the Aromatherapy Registration Council (ARC) CE requirements (12 hours for each workshop).
To reserve your place (payment must be paid in full at time of reservation, $100 non-refundable deposit). This is a custom workshop at a reduced price (usually $250 per day), opened up with the generosity of sharing by our enrolled student.
We hope that you will join us for a beautiful Autumn day in Sedona, filled with memories and plants!
