Just as Brown-eyed Brooks is bold, sassy, and confident, Regretta is the polar opposite – silent, subtle, and classy. Don’t let her initial aloofness put you off with her slight coolness, because once you get to know her, she’ll warm up considerably! Getting confident? Then watch out for that layer of ice which is always just underneath the surface. This is not a fragrance that shouts from the rooftops but who said subtle wasn’t classy?

Regretta is a scent that takes your breath away in its contrasting notes and constant shifts in temperament. There’s just a subtle hint of spice that hits you with that first waft of coolness, before a blanket of fruity-floral warmth hints at what is to come. Don’t get too settled because that coolness is going to come back at you again before it wraps up with some final floral, grounding notes on the dry down. This is a melancholy fragrance – contrasting between cool and warmth – but it’s one that is refreshing, too.

Take Regretta out on a winter evening for a night of classy silence or spend some time at home and get to know her inner warmth. Silent, subtle, but classy.

The Inspiration Behind the Fragrance

“I never said, ‘I wanted to be alone.’ I only said, ‘I want to be left alone.’ There is all the difference.” Greta Garbo

Greta Garbo (1905-1990) was a Swedish-American actress, known for her melancholic Hollywood screen roles in the portrayal of tragic personas. Her life off screen sometimes mirrored that on-screen, spending periods of time alone and in deep reflection. Because of her dislike of crowds, she never attended Hollywood parties, award ceremonies, and the like, adding more fuel to the fire that she was cool, aloof, and melancholic. However, she was a fiercely private person, who kept relationships and friends closely guarded.

It is this contrasting persona of Greta Garbo that I wanted to capture in our latest botanical fragrance Regretta. It took many months of frustration to perfect the transition between the cool and warm notes in the fragrance. I eventually hit on the perfect formula, and an ode to the great actress who inspired it. Meet Regretta.

Ingredients: Alcohol (Ethyl Alcohol), Violet Leaf (Viola odorata) Leaf Extract, Damask rose (Rosa damascena) Flower Extract, Black Pepper (Piper Nigrum) Fruit Oil, Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin) Leaf Oil, Raspberry (Rubus Idaeus) Leaf Extract, Fir Balsam (Abies balsamea) Needle Extract.

Regretta Botanical Fragrance contains no artificial ingredients.
